On the 12 August 2014, I met up with my army friend Jet Toh. I remembered this date well because it was the beginning of my journey with WorldVentures. Jet and I have kind of lost contact for a while. He said he got an amazing thing to show me. He showed me a revolutionary idea. I found the idea simple, refreshing, disruptive, powerful, attractive and beautiful. I love it.
This picture was taken at Bali beach, Indonesia, in late August 2014. I felt just like these boys as they learn how to surf. I was on a new journey myself. I was learning something new in Bali. Actually i was renewing myself here. Something was about to take place in the inside of me.
Jet is a semi-retired guy, married to a lovely wife and has a lovely girl. He made his first million by the age of 32. It’s easy to be impressed by his cool resume. But what impressed me is his humility, wisdom and the big idea he told me. If this idea can change my life, change the world and make it better, there’s no reason why not to be onboard.
I said yes to him on 12th August 2014 but i had no idea what it’s all about (which is pretty normal right…some call this a “leap of faith”). I jumped.
The next jump i did was to follow him to Bali (this is what this post is all about) to see what this movement is all about. It’s one thing to join and another thing to get committed and learn.
So here i am…3 weeks later…landed into Bali…embarking on an epic training event called Journey. This program is a serious personal development and leadership program conducted by WorldVentures. Looking back, it had such a huge impact on my life. I want to give thanks to God for bringing me here. At Journey, I met an incredible guy who would forever change my life. His name is Marc Accetta.
Marc led us (about 300 people were there) through a journey of our own lives. He showed us how we can design our own lives and make it beautiful. He inspired us to be our best. It’s hard to describe the entire course over just a blog, you have to experience it for yourself. People from various parts of the world came for this event. Most people were from Asia as this was an Asia event. It was amazing to learn from Marc as well as one another.
The guy with the “V” sign was a professional footballer with Greece! I had a lot of fun with different people. Everyone has their own personality and viewpoint. I had mine too. But we had to learn how to work as a team fast. I got to know many new friends during this camp, and some of them can be counted as my friends for life.
I quickly learnt that people in WorldVentures work hard and play hard … and eat hard! Everywhere we go, we create fun and joy. I love it.
My only regret in Bali was that I have no time to catch the wave. It’s all right, i will be back. 🙂
I love to wake up early in the morning and head to the beach. That’s where i did my morning run, reflect what i have learnt and paint a new vision for my life.
With a bunch of crazy people, who wants to change ourselves and the world. Apple’s ex CEO Steve Jobs once said
“the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
I believe he’s right. Let the world laugh but it’s the ones who changed the world who have the last laugh.
It’s time to go back home. It’s the end of the training but it’s just the beginning to my real Journey ahead. I felt ready to take on the world!
